Cherry Pie - Farm to Med Review

     Cherry Pie

Farm to Med has become one of my go-to spots for local flower, especially thanks to their weekly rotating sales that make it easy to try new strains without breaking the bank. This time around, I grabbed 7 grams of Cherry Pie for just $35, a steal for a strain with this much character and visual appeal.

Cherry Pie is a balanced hybrid, born from a cross between Granddaddy Purple and Durban Poison—a pairing known for its mix of body relaxation and mental clarity. This cut leans slightly indica in its effects, making it great for evening wind-downs without full-on couch lock. The dominant terpenes here include myrcene, caryophyllene, and pinene, contributing to its calming, slightly euphoric vibe with a little mental uplift. Let's dive in deeper to this strain and talk terps, taste, and effects.

        Effects/Terpenes

Cherry Pie leans slightly indica in effect but maintains enough clarity to keep you functional. The high settles in quickly with a relaxing body sensation, but without the heavy couch-lock. It’s a great option for video game sessions, movies, or casual public outings—any moment where you want to feel good without fading out. Thanks to terpenes like myrcene and pinene, it manages to be both calming and lightly uplifting, making it a reliable midday-to-evening strain. I personally found that its uplifting effect really kept me out of the dumps and my anxiety a bit quieter!

       Visual's/Bag appeal

Cherry Pie brings some standout bag appeal. The buds are light green with deep purple spotting, accented by thick orange hairs and a frosty coating of bulbous, fully developed trichomes that catch the light and are easily visible to the naked eye. The buds are crispy but not too dry, breaking apart easily by hand with a satisfying snap. Structurally, it’s well-cured and well-handled—no excessive shake or dryness.

       Taste/Flavor

This strain leans into its terpene profile to deliver a rich, layered flavor. Caryophyllene brings out a strong peppery spice, while myrcene softens things with a smooth, slightly earthy note. Pinene rounds it out with a light pine finish, and the OG-style gas runs steady through each hit. I smoked this strain in a joint and through glass and the flavor held up nicely, though the ash burned a mix of white and black, showing it wasn’t a perfect cure—but far from bad. Still, the smoke stayed smooth and flavorful throughout.

Numeric Review

Cosmetic: 9.2 - This cut of Cherry Pie is a looker. The light green nugs, flashes of deep purple, and bright orange hairs make for strong bag appeal. Bonus points for the crystal-clear trichome coverage—bulbous and fully developed. Clean trim and a fresh cure add to the visual score.

Flavor: 8.8 - The flavor hits on all fronts with a spicy, pepper-forward inhale, balanced by gassy undertones and a light pine finish. The terpenes come through clearly, especially when smoked at lower temps. Not the most exotic taste out there, but solid, satisfying, and consistent.

Effects: 9.0 - Cherry Pie lands in that perfect zone for functional relaxation. It eases the body without knocking you out, making it ideal for afternoon to evening sessions. Terpenes like myrcene, pinene, and caryophyllene work well together here, giving it a calming but still active vibe.

Overall Average – 9.0/10!
