Introduction

    Dr. Wonderstone continues to put out serious solventless, and Double Lantern is a perfect example of why their name carries weight. This batch immediately stood out for its cleanliness and balance. From jar appeal to melt performance, this is one of those rosins that feels intentional at every stage.

Appearance

    The first thing that grabs you is how light it is. This is a very pale, soft yellow that almost glows under direct light. When you tilt the jar, you can see how wet it truly is. There is visible terpene pooling throughout, giving it that fresh, properly handled look you want from high quality rosin.

    Under light it looks even more impressive. The moisture level and terp separation tell you right away this was stored and handled correctly.

Aroma

    On the first crack, the nose is loud and gassy. It hits with a diesel forward presence that feels heavy and rich. After that initial wave settles, a fresh pine layer comes through with a subtle spice underneath.

    The original Double Lantern flower is known for blending sweet, fruity notes with diesel, and you can absolutely feel that genetic backbone here. While this rosin leans more into the gas and pine on the nose, there is still a faint sweetness tying everything together.

Flavor

    I ran this through the Puffco Pivot at a very low temperature to capture as much of the profile as possible. The flavor translated extremely well. Gas leads the inhale with a slight sweetness riding underneath. On the exhale, that pine note lingers and rounds everything out.

    Interestingly, the spice that shows up on the nose does not come through nearly as strong on the palate. Instead, you get a clean, balanced profile that feels refined rather than sharp.

Melt and Performance

    This is where Double Lantern really shines. The melt quality is outstanding. Each session left behind very minimal residue in the chamber. Cleanup was effortless, usually one to two swabs at most.

    For rosin, that level of cleanliness is a big deal. It speaks to starting material quality and proper processing. Ultra clean is the best way to describe it.

Effects

    Based on the heavy gas forward aroma, I expected this to lean more sedating. Instead, the effects were surprisingly creative and uplifting.

    There is an immediate shift in mindset that feels euphoric and clear. It promotes sociability and creative thinking, yet still provides a steady layer of physical relaxation. The balance is impressive. You feel at ease without feeling slowed down.

    The flower version of Double Lantern is often described as creative, slightly euphoric, and versatile enough to ease stress while stimulating appetite. This rosin captures that energy while keeping everything smooth and controlled.

Overall Thoughts

    The biggest standout with Double Lantern is how ultra clean it is paired with how unique the effect profile feels compared to the nose. The heavy gas aroma suggests one direction, but the actual experience delivers something more uplifting and versatile.

    This is a well executed rosin from appearance to performance, and it is absolutely something I plan to pick up again.

    Blueberries! Imagine breaking open a beautiful round nug while being met with a medley of subtle fruit smells and light gassy notes. This offering from Farm To Med is a bag appeal monster with noticeably well developed trichomes!
