Snapdragon Review - Dark Matter

Dark Matter

This strain is quickly rocketing to the top of my favorites list. Dark Matter, from Snapdragon Hemp, is a unique cross between Cherry Thunderfuck and Rusty Haze—two distinct genetics that come together beautifully in this cut.

A hybrid that leans indica, Dark Matter owes much of its relaxing effect to a heavy dose of myrcene—a terpene often linked to that classic “couch-lock” sensation.

Crack open the jar, stir a bit, and you're greeted with an out-of-this-world nose: sharp, gassy cherries that hit you right away. It’s a wild and wonderful terpene combo that sets the tone before you even reach for your torch.

   Myrcene!

What really sets Dark Matter apart is its terpene profile—especially its high myrcene content. Myrcene is one of the most common terpenes found in cannabis and is known for its musky, earthy aroma and deeply relaxing effects. It’s often cited as the terp responsible for that heavy, sedative “couch-lock” sensation. In this strain, the myrcene presence is unmistakable—it’s the anchor that brings the hybrid's indica side to the forefront.

    Flavor Profile

From the first whiff to the final exhale, Dark Matter brings a bold, gassy cherry profile that’s as unique as it is memorable. The fuel-forward nose hits first, followed by a subtle sweetness that lingers on the palate. On the dab rig, the flavor holds up surprisingly well—no harshness, just smooth vapor with that same sweet-skunky complexity that was in the jar. It’s the kind of dab that makes you pause for a second hit, not just for the high, but because it genuinely tastes that good.

    Dab Experience

I loaded up some Dark Matter into my e-rig, set around 480°F, and it performed beautifully. The crumble texture made it super easy to work with on the dab tool—no fuss, just grab a piece and go. The vapor was thick and flavorful, with the terps coming through strong without any harshness.

The concentrate itself was stable and clean, leaving minimal residue, which is always a good sign. As for the high, it built up slowly but hit hard with that full-body relaxation typical of myrcene-heavy strains. It didn’t fog up my head, but it definitely had me sinking into the couch, making it perfect for those evening wind-down sessions.

    Numeric Review

Bag Appeal/Cosmetic: 9.1/10 - Dark Matter comes in the form of a golden, slightly wet crumble that’s both eye-catching and easy to work with. Its texture strikes a great balance—not too dry, not too sticky, making it a breeze to scoop with a dab tool. The glistening, terp-rich surface gives it a fresh, well-cured appearance that speaks to quality processing!

Smell/Taste: 9.3/10 - The aroma hits immediately with a blast of gassy cherry—sharp, slightly sweet, and unmistakably loud. On the dab, that profile holds steady with a clean, flavorful hit that stays smooth throughout. It’s a bold, balanced mix that doesn’t fade out or get muddled.

Effects: 8.9/10 - Despite being a hybrid, the high myrcene content leans the experience toward the indica end of the spectrum. Within minutes of dabbing, a calm, full-body relaxation sets in. Mentally clear, physically mellow—ideal for ending the day or easing tension.

Overall Score: 9.1/10!
