Sour Runtz - White Ash Reserve Review

White Ash Reserve sent out this 7g sample of Sour Runtz, and it’s an indoor grow where the quality shows right away.

Appearance

Buds are medium sized with a few pushing into large territory. Structure is tight but not overly dense, with round, fat nugs and some length to them.

Color is a pale green base with spots of purple and darker greens. There’s a healthy amount of pistils, and the frost gives the buds a fluffy look.

Trichome coverage is rich with mature heads. This was harvested at the right time and cured properly. The trichomes also held up well during shipping.

Breakdown

Very sticky and fluffy. When ground up it clumps together from how sticky it is.

Despite that, the cure is dialed in so it doesn’t gum up the grinder. Breaking it down by hand gives a nice crisp snap.

Smell

First impression is a pungent gas that leans into classic skunk.

On a deeper smell, it opens up into that strong gas mixed with a sweet note and a faint dark berry aroma. It reminds me of a blueberry wine.

Overall, the nose is loud. The gas is especially strong, but the entire profile is not subtle.

Flavor

Flavor follows the smell but feels flipped.

You get more sweet berry on the palate than gas. It’s not overly sweet like candy strains, but it’s noticeable.

The standout is the dark berry note, slightly sweet with a mild bitterness that works well. The gas comes through more on the exhale and complements it.

Smoke Quality

The cure and trim are on point. No leftover sugar leaves causing harshness.

Smoke is smooth and stays flavorful throughout the whole session.

Effects

    Balanced effects overall.

There’s a mental rush of energy and euphoria that carries through the day without becoming overwhelming. It keeps you feeling ready and productive.

Body effects bring light euphoric tingles and finish with a mild wave of relaxation.

For me, this is a daytime strain with a high-energy, positive vibe.

Burn

Burn quality is strong. White ash and an even burn when rolled.

When the cure and trim are this dialed in, it usually translates to a premium smoke, and that’s the case here.

Final Thoughts

I would recommend this to anyone looking for classic genetics with flavor you can actually taste, paired with an energetic and balanced effect profile.
