Alderson Family Farms - Candyland Flower Review

This was a sample provided by Alderson Family Farms and it arrived in a sealed plastic jar with a humidity control pack, store branding, strain name, and tamper proof stickers sealing the jar. The presentation is quality and represents a vendor that cares how the customer receives their products.

As you open the jar the first impression is nug structure and jar appeal. The nugs here are very large, dense, and have a beautiful overall look. The structure is long fat buds with a semi brittle texture, it slightly crumbles when broken down instead of tearing off.

The overall appearance of the flower is A tier. You get a beautiful range of colors from lighter and darker greens mixed with some light purples. This bud also has vibrant orange pistils and a impressive frost covering the buds. It reminds me of looking at a Christmas tree with all the colors, and is sure to impress the smoke circle on looks alone.

The smell is on par with the name. It's instantly sweet with some gummy bear like qualities. You also get a light gas background that stays noticeable but tame compared to the sweetness. Not an overwhelming or super complex aroma, but a pleasent one that fits the name.

This bud taste very similar to the smell, it opens with lots of candy like sweetness that stains your mouth, then on the exhale you get that earthy gas flavor that reminds me of an OG.

Effects are very solid and where this strain shines for me. I got a very potent stoney feeling behind the eyes and in the chest from this one, it left me staring blankly often. The body felt similar with a heavy sedation feeling and some light euphoric tingles. This is a great pick for nights where you want to zone out from the world for a little while and it's perfect at that.

Performance is also top shelf here, you get a nice bud texture that is dense but not rock hard. When broken down you get fluffy bud that sticks to itself. The perfect texture for rolling. The burn is even and with bone white ash, this was cured correct. The smoke is overall very smooth and easy to enjoy.

Overall this is a easy recommendation to almost anyone. It's quality genetics, flavor, aroma, and bag appeal. This is my first impression with Alderson Family Farms and based on how great this strain was I can't wait to get into what else they sent!
